Tae Kwon Do

Our Taekwondo course offers a practical self-defense program for men, women, and teens. Students learn how to use the essential parts of their bodies against the weaknesses of a potential attacker. Taekwondo as a martial art has many other benefits as well, aside from the incredible feelng of security and confidence knowing you are able to defend yourself.

Taekwondo is a complete workout, involving every aspect of of your body: balance, coordination, strength, endurance, and flexibility. Training is both aerobic for health and cardio and anaerobic for strength. As the student progresses in rank, the physical demands become more challenging. Taekwondo also promotes a positive mental attitude and is known to bring out that warrior spirit hidden in everyone.

Krav Maga

Adults

One of the most effective systems for hand-to-hand combat!

Krav Maga is the official hand to hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It is also one of the preferred systems for the U.S. Military and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga is not a traditional martial art. No katas. No rituals. No nonsense. Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality-based system is designed to teach real self defense in the shortest time possible. Krav Maga teaches how to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bear hugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Just as important, we teach people to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter.

Our Krav Maga Program designed for men, women and teens, will help you develop your defensive tactics by using real world techniques designed to develop and increase your ability to protect yourself and loved ones in any common street level situation. 

Cardio Kickboxing

Adults

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai is a style of kick boxing where participants fight in the ring using their fists, feet, elbows and knees in a style that has become world renowned for its simplicity and effectiveness.

Muay Thai Kickboxing teaches you how to strike precision blows using your hands, knees, and elbows in punching and kicking combinations. Many UFC Fighters consider Muay Thai Kickboxing to be a crucial asset to their arsenal of tactics and it gives you an awesome fat burning, muscle building workout, as well as adding to your self defense knowledge. Professional fighters have found this program essential for fitness, body building and increasing their speed and reaction time. Johnny Ahmed has been teaching martial arts to all age groups and levels for over a decade. In 2007, he opened his own studio, Richmond Martial Arts, in Richmond BC so he could introduce even more students to the art form.

Johnny Ahmed also competed in competitions throughout North America 5 x year (1995-2008), member of BC Team (Team Captain) and Alberta Team (Top pick) and also coach Junior BC Team. Attended & seminars with the founder of Taekwon-Do multiple times.

Since then, the school has expanded its student base and its reputation, being named one of the Top 3 Martial Arts Schools in Richmond BC by the Richmond Review.

Johnny has 22 years of training in Taekwon-Do (5th degree black belt), Kickboxing, Muay Thai and is a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu(given by Royce Gracie). He's also a certified trainer in the Bas Rutten MMA System of mixed martial arts.

He has trained with some of the finest martial artists in the world like Bill "Super Foot" Wallace, Billy Blanks, Royce Gracie, Cung Le, Randy Couture, and Bas Rutten.

Johnny Ahmed also employs a team of high level experts in their martial arts disciplines. They ensure their students receive the best possible training in their chosen martial art.
